Conditions of use :

I - FARES

 

Passengers who board at a stop situated between two pay points will be charged the fare four the previous pay point on the route.

Passengers who leave the bus at a stop between two pay points will be charged the fare to the following pay point on the route.

Children under the age of four years only may travel free of charge but must be seated on their parents’ lap, one child per parent : a free ticket will then be issued.

Inside the P.T.U. area (urban transport area) regulations and fares will  be fixed as under public authority  regulations when the two parties are bound by contract.

 

II - TICKETS

Travellers must enquire about the cost of their journey, have the correct change ready and make sure that their ticket bears the correct fare : users must also make sure that their ticket is valid before the start o their journey. Any later querying cannot be taken into account.

  1. Tickets are issued by bus drivers or at the bus station ticket office and are subject to conditions laid down by the different transport companies.
  2.  Tickets must be shown to the bus driver each time the passenger gets onto the bus. Passengers must keep their ticket until the end of the journey so that it may be shown for inspection if requested by bus inspectors either on board or on leaving the bus.
  3. Passengers travelling without a valid ticket will be subject to fine. The amount of the fine is fixed in line with the current by-laws concerning bus regulations (art.529-3 to 530-3) “Code de Procedure Penale”.
  4. Passengers who decide to leave the bus before reaching the destination specified on their ticket will lose the right to complete their journey at a later time. (Excepting special cases defined by the transport authorities).
  5. Unused tickets will not be  refunded
  6. Tickets for a return journey may be issued on certain bus routes. The return journey ticket must always correspond to the single ticket journey made in the opposite direction.
  7. On some bus routes, passengers may pay for their ticket with a voucher. In such cases, the voucher must be filled in correctly and bear all the necessary information. Such vouchers are valid for one year after issue except if otherwise stated.

 

III - SCHEDULES

The transport company may not be held liable for delays or cancellations of their transport services due to exceptional conditions causes by circumstances outside its control or unforeseen events such as bad weather conditions, natural disasters, social conflict, army intervention on that of the local authorities, strikes, fire, flooding. Such exceptional events extend to any occurrence having unforeseen consequences completely out of the transport company’s control and preventing the company from carrying out its services as specified by contract.

Bus schedules and connections between buses or other transport services (train services-SNCF. Airlines) are ensured as far as possible but cannot be guaranteed.

The transport company cannot be charged expenses or accept responsibility for any consequences brought about by delays or modifications.

IV - STOPS

All stops must be requested, passengers must therefore hail the bus to get on and signal to the bus driver when they desire to get off.

V - SEATS

The first three seats situated behind the bus driver are allocated as follows :

  1. Disabled ex-service men.
  2. Blind civilians.
  3. The industrially disabled and crippled civilians.
  4. Future mothers.
  5. Persons with children under four years of age
  6. Persons with a physical handicap

These passengers must be accompanied by another adult for the entire journey. The accompanying passenger will travel free of charge (a free ticket will be issued). If however at the time of departure these seats remain unoccupied, other passengers may use them but must give up their seat immediately if one of the fore-stated passengers boards the bus during the journey. (by law 1-9-1948).

VI - LOST PROPERTY

Lost property may be claimed by passengers who will be asked to produce identification at the bus depot corresponding to the bus route on which the property was lost. The transport company cannot accept responsibility for the loss of any unfound property.

VII - ANIMALS

Small sized pets may be transported free of charge provided they are carried in a closed basket and on their owner’s lap. Dogs may only board if held on a leash and wearing a muzzle. Owners will be charged a fare. Dogs must not cause inconvenience to other passengers. Dogs belonging to the blind will not be charged a fare.

 

VIII - LUGGAGE

Regulations : a ticket or receipt for payment will be required for the transport of parcels and baggage.
Baggage : luggage up to 10 kilos will be transported free of charge for all passengers provided that it is carried on the passenger’s lap, and measures no more than 45 cm. Heavy baggage (over 10 kilos) and baggage measuring more than 45 cm will be transported in the bus’s boot. Passengers with a ticket coasting 15 Euros may transport two pieces of luggage free of charge (...two suitcases or one suitcase and one bag).

Luggage will be charged per article and not in bulk.

Bicycles and skis will be accepted as luggage provided there is enough space in the boot and will be charged at the same rate as extra luggage. Luggage must be handed over to the driver on boarding the bus.

The bus company cannot accept responsibility for the loss of luggage left hear the bus or for any damage caused in the boot during the journey.

The transport company may refuse to transport over 30 kilos of baggage per passenger.

 

IX - Legal responsibility and attributions

In the case of an accident the bus company’s responsibility falls solely under the terms of its Insurance Policy in the agreement of its activity (bus and tax services).

In the case of disagreement or dispute, these may only be heard in the law Courts (Industrial Tribunal) governing jurisdiction exclusively in the locality in which the bus service operates.

Luggage and skis are under the entire responsibility of their owners.

 

Special prescriptions

The following are forbidden :

  1. Smoking in the vehicle
  2. To hinder or speak to the bus driver while he is driving
  3. To operate the safety exits (except in the case of an accident)
  4. To hinder the operation of the doors
  5. Cause damage to the bus’s interior furnishings or information panels

 

Orderly behaviour is expected at all times.

The holder of a bus ticket must abide by the rules and regulations stated in the General Conditions for sale.
